Arabic Noun Endings
In Arabic, nouns have different endings to show their function in a sentence
These are called noun cases ( ٌالتُّشْكيل)

Genitive | مَجْرُوْرٌ | Kasrah | Possessor of a thing, or comes after a preposition or an adverb | الكتابِ،كتاباٍ ،محمدٍ،باباٍ |
- When the last letter of a noun has a DAMMAH
It is said to be مَرْفُوْعٌ (it indicates Nominative Case)
ذَهَبَ مُحمدٌ إلى السّقِ
حامدٌ طالبٌ مُجْتهِدٌ
آمنةُ بنتٌ جميلةٌ - When the last letter of a noun has a FATAH
It is said to be مَنْصُوْبٌ (it indicates Accusative Case)
كَمْ دُلاراً عِنْدَكَ
أشْهَدُ أنَّ محمداً عَبدُهُ وَ رَسُولهُ
- When the last letter of a noun has a KASRAH
It is said to be مَجْرُرٌ (it indicates Genitive Case)
هذا كتابُ محمدٍ
السَّاعَةُ على السَّريرِ
أيُّ يَومٍ هذا؟
